In our class, Journalism, we studied the effects of the free press in the US and around the world, and how dangerous it can be to be a journalist. We also learned how to write our own articles, interview someone, and about the basic principles of journalistic writing. Especially in these scary times, where journalists are attacked every day for trying to report the truth, we have to do our best to follow only reliable sources, look at multiple places for news, and stand up for the freedom of the press. Even though it is our first amendment, we can look back through many times in American history where that amendment was ignored, and where journalists have been persecuted and attacked for reports they have made. It has been so powerful to learn about some of these brave people. For this Action Project, we wrote our own articles about important issues affecting our own neighborhoods. Thank you for reading.
