Nature Center Adventures

       This July, I volunteered at the Eco- Explorers Summer Camp for nine and ten year olds. I had an amazing time teaching the campers about animals, plants, and the environment. They spent their days running around the center, playing games, searching for animals in the pond, and adding all about their adventures in their nature journals. I love to see how they all connect so easily to the nature around them even though most of them had never experienced it before. They also learned survival skills like shelter building and fire making. Even in this day, I think it is important for everyone to learn skills like these because we rely so much on our technology.
