About Me

Who am I?
I am 16 years old, and I live in Chicago, Illinois. I am interested in LGBTQIA+ rights and law. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, writing short stories, singing, listening to music, musical theater and weaving. I have two kittens named Watney and Xena who are the best pets ever. I love to read sci-fi and fantasy books, and my favorite comics are anything, Marvel. This year, I hope that my math skills will grow and I hope to get some more experience helping LGBTQIA+ rights because my biggest goal in life is to work as an LGBTQIA+ rights lawyer for the Human Rights Campaign

Why GCE?
I chose to attend GCE because it has such a unique kind of educational system that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Every class only has about 10 or 15 people, which makes it easier to make friends, and you get more individual attention from teachers. The curriculum is set up so that everything you learn has a real purpose in life, and there are field experiences every week that add so much to our understanding of the unit. GCE is one big community where anyone in welcome and it is one of my places to be.

My GCE Blog
The purpose of this blog is to showcase my work and experiences at GCE. On my blog, I post about my service learning opportunities, my action projects, which are a version of finals, though instead of tests, we complete large projects.
