As an independent project over this elective term, I have been researching and writing a history of deaf education and culture. Since July of 2017, I have been learning American Sign Language, and all of the classes I have taken were wonderful, but do not go into much detail about the history of sign, or what it was like for deaf people before sign was invented. So, I decided to research for myself, and eventually, I decided to turn my collection of notes into a real paper so that more people can understand and connect with deaf culture. All of my sources are linked at the bottom of this page and at the end of the report if you would like to learn more. Thank you so much for reading.
